The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) spearheaded the Kickoff program of the observance of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week in Dagupan City last November 17, 2014 at CSI Stadia Convention Center, Lucao, Dagupan City.

The ceremony started with a Walk for a Cause in the fight against drug abuse participated by different government agencies, officials of the local government of Dagupan and Dangerous Drugs Board.

Giving importance to healthy living, a mass calisthenics exercise also ensued.

Pangasinan Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. strengthened his commitment to keep the province of Pangasinan drug-free.

As a native of Pangasinan, DDB Chairman Secretary Antonio A. Villar Jr. was also also very happy that this year’s DAPC celebration was hosted by Dagupan City.  

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez expressed the support of the whole Dagupan City to the programs and projects of the DDB. A Seminar Workshop for NSTP educators and implementers on drug abuse prevention education will be held in Dagupan City in the next two days.  

Meanwhile, the highlights of the DAPC celebration have been the unveiling of billboard containing the message “No to Marijuana Legalization” and the presentation of entries for the slogan competition.

This celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124 issued on 26 November 2001, “Declaring the third week of November of every year as the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week”.
