DDB gives additional 5 M to rehab center in Dagupan
The Dangerous Drugs Board released today an additional 5 Million financial assistance to the recently inaugurated Region I Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City.
On behalf of Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Atty. Farah Marie G. Decano, City Administrator, received the check from DDB Chairman Sec. Antonio A. Villar, Jr.
This is in addition to the 10 Million granted by the Board in 2011 and 5 Million given in 2013 for the construction of the facility.
Funding support for the TRC was sought from the DDB through a resolution passed by the city council in 2011.
Dubbed as “The habitat: A place for change,” the center was formally inaugurated last February 26 by national and local government officials, officials from the Department of Health and the DDB.
Prior to its full operation, the center started accepting outpatient clients in December 2011 and residential patients in July 2014.
At present, the 300-bed facility houses 46 residential patients.
The center is seen to cater not only to patients from Dagupan City but the whole Region I including neighboring provinces like Isabela, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Tarlac and Cordillera.
