President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has named Maria Belen Angelita V. Matibag as the new Executive Director of the Dangerous Drugs Board, the first female appointed to such position.
One who rose from ranks, Usec. Matibag started her government career at the DDB at an early age when she was hired as a Guidance Psychologist in 1982. Having been appointed to different positions, she gained a broad experience in various fields like psychology, research, and administrative matters. She became the chief of the Policy Studies, Research and Statistics Division of the DDB and in 2007, she was appointed as the Deputy Executive Director for Operations during the Arroyo administration. She left the DDB for a brief period but is now back as one of its top officials.
As the new Executive Director, she will oversee the day to day activities of the DDB Secretariat and will also act as the Secretary of the Board, managing the implementation of its policies and directives.
Usec. Matibag was appointed by the President on April 04, 2017 and took her oath of office before the Chief of Public Attorney’s Office, Dr. Persida Rueda-Acosta on April 07, 2017.
