The new Chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board, Secretary Catalino S. Cuy considers his post as a “big challenge” but commits to serve with the same fervor and passion.
“The Filipino people can expect my commitment in fulfilling the agency’s mandate to develop and implement a balanced and comprehensive approach against drugs. My knowledge and experiences in the enforcement side could contribute in formulating policies that will address our country’s drug abuse problem.” This, he said as he officially assumes the top post in DDB today.
He also plans to further develop the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) to be undertaken by the government in addressing the country’s drug problem.
Meanwhile, Executive Director and head of DDB Secretariat, Undersecretary Earl P. Saavedra welcomes the appointment of the new chair and is confident that the agency is in good hands under Secretary Cuy’s leadership.
Appointment of the former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Catalino Cuy was released by Malacañang last January 5 (Friday).
