A Memorandun of Agreement (MOA) between the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and the Kilusang Iwas Droga ng Sambayanang (KIDS) Pilipino Association, Inc. has been signed today.
The Agreement signifies the partnership between the two parties to strengthen the anti-drug campaign—providing support and assistance in the implementation of preventive education programs.
Headed by Martin Yu Paragoso, KIDS is a private community organization which aims to promote drug-free communities in the country.
Present during the MOA signing are DDB Chairman Secretary Catalino Cuy, KIDS President Mr. Martin Yu Paragoso, 2nd District, Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace S. Barbers, Office of the President for Special Concerns Assistant Secretary Aurora Ignacio and Assistant Secretary for External and Legislative Affairs, Ricojudge Echiverri.
DDB Chairman Secretary Cuy expressed his gratitude to the support of KIDS in promoting a drug-free environment, and hopes to involve the different sectors of the society in intensifying the conduct of anti-drug campaign, “This is part of our whole of nation approach on anti-illegal drug campaign. We see that it is beyond government, we hope to involve all people from the government and private sector. We welcome all individuals, all groups to join us in our anti-drug campaign,” Cuy stated.
Both parties are expected to extend help and support from each other in the conduct of preventive education programs in communities that would cater to the students, youth organizations, parents and other sectors of the society.
This is part of the initiatives of DDB in intensifying the conduct of anti-drug campaign through the implementation of drug prevention programs.
