The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) in partnership with the provincial government of Bataan, gears up for the national celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) on June 22, in Balanga City, Bataan.

With the theme “Katarungan para sa Kalusugan, Kalusugan para sa Katarungan,” the DDB and the provincial government of Bataan enlist the participation of youth and young professionals, including barangay anti-drug abuse councils, Non-Government Organizations and other government agencies in cultivating a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

A neon run kicks off this year’s IDADAIT observance, followed by Rakrakan Against Drugs, a free anti-drug concert as the celebration’s main attraction. The concert features OPM bands in the likes of Mayonnaise, Slapshock, Maryzark, and Hollydaze, with Jesse and Christian Perkins as the concert’s front act.

The IDADAIT committee in Bataan facilitates the ongoing pre-registration for the neon run at Vista Mall, Balanga, Bataan. The race bib also serves as an individual’s pass to the concert grounds.

Meanwhile, the DDB also encourages the participation of partner agencies and local government units across the country to mobilize anti-drug advocates in the observance of IDADAIT.

IDADAIT is an annual event observed simultaneously every 26th of June by UN-Member Countries as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of illegal drugs and drugs abuse.
